Background and Analysis:
1) At the April 23, 2024, City Council meeting:
• Chief Byerly introduced and swore in Juan Cruz and Anthony Fernandez, new Police Officers for the City of Signal Hill.
• Mayor Woods recognized the City’s 100th Year Anniversary.
• Signal Hill Petroleum, Platinum Sponsor for the City’s Centennial, presented a sponsorship check to the City in the amount of $100,000.
• City Council adopted a resolution amending the uniform schedule of fees and charges.
• City Council adopted a resolution amending CUP 00-05 for the self-storage facility at 2901 East Pacific Coast Highway.
2) At the May 14, 2024, Special City Council meeting:
• City Council conducted a budget study session for the preliminary budget for Fiscal Years 24-25 and 25-16.
3) At the May 14, 2024, City Council meeting:
• Finance Director Del Rosario introduced Siamlu Cox, Deputy Finance Director.
• Mayor Woods presented a proclamation to the Outstanding Older American awardee in recognition of Older American Month.
• Mayor Woods presented a proclamation in recognition of National Police Week, May 12-18, 2024.
