Summary:
On January 28, 2025, the City Council requested staff prepare an introductory agenda item to allow discussion of the City’s Fireworks Ordinance. The City Council will discuss the fireworks ordinance and provide staff with direction as desired.

Background:
At the City Council meeting of January 28, 2025, Mayor Jones requested staff place this item on the agenda for the meeting of February 11, 2025; Vice Mayor Hansen provided a vote in support of additional discussion. Staff included this item on the agenda for initial discussion. Pursuant to Section 6.1 of the City’s Manual of Procedural Guidelines, if a majority of the City Council supports placing this item on a subsequent agenda for final action, staff would prepare a more detailed agenda report with additional analysis.
