Background and Analysis:
1) At the April 22, 2025, City Council meeting:
• City Council appointed and re-appointed members to the Parks and Recreation, Civil Service, and Planning Commissions.
• City Council introduced an Ordinance amending the SHMC to authorize future water rate increases by Resolution instead of by Ordinance.
• City Council approved a Resolution approving a purchase and sale agreement between the City and the property owner of 1975 E 21st St and 2107 Cherry Avenue.
2) At the May 13, 2025, City Council special meeting:
• City Council conducted a Budget Study Session.
3) At the May 13, 2025, City Council regular meeting:
• City Clerk Daritza Gonzalez swore in newly appointed Chief of Police, Brad Kenneally.
• City Council conducted a Public Hearing as per AB 2561, reporting on the vacancy rate for City employees.
• City Council adopted Ordinance 2025-04-1554, confirming that the City will update rate changes by resolution.
