Summary:

 

The annual California Parks and Recreation Society (CPRS) conference is held in late winter or early spring.  The City allocates limited funding to allow up to two commissioners to attend the annual conference, with the Commission determining attendance at a regularly scheduled meeting. 

This year, the conference will take place in Long Beach, California, from March 10-13, 2026. 

 

The Commission will discuss and determine which two commissioners will be selected to attend this year’s annual conference.

Background & Analysis:

 

CPRS is holding the annual California Parks and Recreation Conference in Long Beach, California, March 10 - March 13, 2026. Conference registration is $615 for members and $795 for non-members, per person. To take advantage of discounted rates, staff request that the Commission select up to two commissioners to attend the annual CPRS conference.
