Summary:
A. GATEWAY CITIES 2024 ENERGY ACTION AWARD - Signal Hill has been presented with the Gateway Cities 2024 Energy Action Award at the Gold level. Chair Savoulian and Committee Member Phillips attended the award ceremony to accept the award. The Gateway Cities Council of Government will present the award to the City Council during the April 8, 2025, meeting. SCC committee members can attend the City Council meeting to show support.
B. SCC SUBCOMITTEE: FARMER’S MARKET - During the October 1, 2024, SCC meeting, Committee Member Woods brought up the idea of a night market instead of a farmer’s market. Subcommittee members specified that they would look further into the possibility of a night market, in lieu of a farmer's market. Subcommittee members will provide an update on their findings.
C. SCC SUBCOMITTEE: POLYSTYRENE PACKAGING CAMPAIGN - During the October 1, 2024, SCC meeting, Committee Member Wong asked that this item be placed back on the agenda to discuss a policy banning of single-use foam. The subcommittee will provide a brief status report of the current polystyrene packaging educational campaign and any ideas for continued efforts.
D. STREET TREE MASTER PLAN - SWA will provide a presentation on the next steps for the project.
E. HILLBROOK PARK - The Public Works Department will provide an update on the completion of the Hillbrook Park renovation.
